CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Gardner-Webb junior right-handed pitcher Bradley Hallman has been named Big South Conference Pitcher of the Week for games played during the opening weekend of the 2017 season, as announced today by the Conference office.

Hallman (Denver, N.C. / Southlake Christian Academy) shined in the season-debut Sunday afternoon, holding Canisius to just two base hits in eight scoreless innings of work to earn a 5-0 victory.

The right-hander retired each of the first eleven batters he faced, and fanned six Canisius batters throughout his 8.0 innings of work, issuing only two walks during his time on the mound Sunday.

Gardner-Webb (2-2) returns to action Wednesday afternoon at No. 9 North Carolina (3-0).  First pitch is set for 3:00 pm at Boshhamer Stadium in Chapel Hill, N.C.
