CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Gardner-Webb junior right-handed pitcher Bradley Hallman has been named the Big South Conference Pitcher of the Week for games played March 6-12, as announced today by the Conference office.
Hallman (Denver, N.C. / Southlake Christian Academy) shined on the mound Saturday afternoon at ETSU, leading the Runnin' Bulldogs to a 5-1 victory.
The right-hander tossed the first complete game of his career, allowing just one run, while striking out four batters and issuing just one walk. Hallman scattered five base hits throughout the game, only allowing more than one base runner to reach in an inning once, in the bottom of the ninth.
This marks the second time in 2017 that Hallman has earned Big South Pitcher of the Week honors, previously winning the award on February 20th following the opening weekend in which he hurled 8.0 scoreless innings in a 5-0 win over Canisius.
Hallman has excelled throughout the early part of the 2017 season, allowing only four runs in 30.0 innings of work for an overall ERA of 1.20.
Gardner-Webb (6-11) hosts Quinnipiac on Tuesday evening at 5:00 pm at John Henry Moss Stadium.
