KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Gardner-Webb men's golf placed 17th at the 2016 East Bay Deli Classic, wrapping up play on Tuesday afternoon.
The tournament was played on the Turtle Point Golf Course on Kiawah Island.
Vincent Blanchette (73-75-71-219) carded his best round of the week on Tuesday to move into a tie for 15th, as Gardner-Webb shot 312 as a team in the final round. The Runnin' Bulldogs (298-302-312-912) finished one stroke ahead of Abilene Christian and two strokes behind Loyola (Md.) in the team standings.
The University of Tennessee shot a three-round score of 867 to win the team title by four strokes over Augusta.
In addition to Blanchette, Gardner-Webb's Aaron Thomas (76-74-80-230) finished in a tie for 61st, as did Steffen Smith (77-78-75-230). Jonathan Henry (72-75-87-234) finished in a tie for 82nd and Chris Jones (81-79-86-246) finished 110th.
The Runnin' Bulldogs wrapped up the fall portion of the 2016-2017 schedule at Turtle Point.
