BOILING SPRINGS – Alexis Hueston (Roanoke, Va.) and Nia Lee (Suwanee, Ga.) have signed National Letters of Intent to attend Gardner-Webb University and play basketball for the Runnin' Bulldogs beginning in the fall of 2017, announced Head Coach Rick Reeves Tuesday.

"We are so excited to have both Alexis and Nia join our program," praised Reeves. "Both come from great AAU programs and have experience playing against great competition.  My staff did a great job recruiting and both Alexis and Nia are perfect fits here at Gardner-Webb spiritually, academically, as well as athletically."

Alexis Hueston comes to Gardner-Webb from Northside High School in Roanoke, Va., where she earned First-Team All-Conference and All-District honors for this past season.  She is also a standout on the volleyball squad, earning First-Team All-Conference honors for the 2016 season.

"This is an incredible opportunity and I plan on making the best of everything that God has in store for me at Gardner-Webb University," stated Hueston.

Hueston also plays for the BWSL Richmond AAU team.

Nia Lee comes to Gardner-Webb from perennial favorite Collins Hill High School in Suwanee, Ga., where she helped lead the squad to a 29-2 record last season and an appearance in the Georgia High School Association AAAAAA Girls State Basketball Tournament Sweet 16.  The 6-0 combo guard also earned Gwinnett Tip Off Club Player of the Month honors for January 2016.

"I'm going to give my all everyday, play hard, have fun, and enjoy the game," stated Lee.

Lee also plays for the FBC SouthEast Elite AAU squad.
