SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Three Runnin' Bulldogs reached double figures in scoring, yet Gardner-Webb dropped a 75-66 decision to Wofford on Tuesday evening.

Gardner-Webb (2-3) was led in scoring by Tierra Huntsman, who scored 13 points on a 3-for-9 performance from the floor.  Alexus Hill and Lovely Locklear each added 12 points, with both shooting 4-for-8 for the game.

Wofford (3-1) was led by both Maria Corella and Kentra Washington, who each had 15 points on the night.

The game got off to a slow start, as neither team was able to score for the first 2:30 of play.  Gardner-Webb held a brief lead at 5-4 following a three-pointer by Hill with 5:49 on the clock, but Wofford would go on a quick 5-0 run to lead at 9-5 with 4:26 to go, and would lead by a 13-7 margin at the end of the first period.

Wofford would build its lead to as high as 11 points a handful of times throughout the second period, yet GWU would chip away at the deficit, pulling within six points at 27-21 after a jumper by Evelyn Adebayo with 0:26 on the clock.  Wofford would score the last bucket of the half with 0:06 to go to take a 29-21 lead into the locker rooms at halftime.

The Terriers quickly pushed their lead to 12 points at 33-21 with 8:57 to go in the third period, and would expand it to as high as 15 points at 45-30 with 3:25 on the clock.  The Runnin' Bulldogs would once again close the gap in the final minutes of the period, pulling within eight points to close the frame down by a score of 51-43.

Wofford would once again expand its lead into double-digits early in the fourth period, expanding it to 13 points at 58-45 with 7:05 on the clock.  A three-pointer from Huntsman and a layup from Locklear would quickly pull GWU back within single digits at 58-50 with 6:21 to go, yet the Terriers would once again pull out to a 12 point lead at 62-50 with 4:37 remaining in the period.  Gardner-Webb would respond with an 8-2 run to cut the deficit to six points, 64-58, with 2:40 on the clock after a pair of free throws by Huntsman, but that would be as close as the margin would get, as the Terriers would take the contest by a final score of 75-66.

Gardner-Webb will take a short break for the Thanksgiving holiday, returning to action Saturday afternoon at USC Upstate.  Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 pm in Spartanburg, S.C.
