PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – Taylor Dodson fired a 71 on Tuesday and the Gardner-Webb women's golf team held its position to finish in a tie for 7th at the 2016 Golfweek Program Challenge.
The event was held at the 6,042-yard Caledonia Golf & Fish Club on Pawley's Island.
Dodson finished 13th individually for the Runnin' Bulldogs over the three-day event. The Aiken, S.C., standout had a pair of birdies on Tuesday, using just two strokes on the Par 3 sixth hole and coming out of the turn with a birdie on the 531-yard Par 5 10th.
Dodson carded a 72 on Sunday and shot a 221 for the tournament to pace the Runnin' Bulldogs.
Sarah Bertram (77-72-78-227) finished 29th, Julia Henderson (79-73-78-230) finished in a tie for 34th, Wassawan Sangkapong (Mim) (80-82-77-239) finished 55th and Morgan Laird (80-81-80-241) tied for 59th to round out the Gardner-Webb contingent.
The Runnin' Bulldogs were tied with Mercer for seventh position and finished 14 strokes back of James Madison in sixth. Boston College shot a three-day score of 865 to nip Big South Conference member Campbell (866) for the team title.
Gardner-Webb is next in action on September 25-27 at the 2016 ECU Lady Pirate Intercollegiate.
