SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Gardner-Webb finished sixth at the 2016 Terrier Intercollegiate Golf Tournament, which took place Sunday and Monday.
The tournament was played at the Country Club of Spartanburg and its 6,012-yard course.
The Runnin' Bulldogs rebounded from a first-round score of 315, improving by 12 shots to finish two shots behind host Wofford.
Big South colleague Winthrop won the event, shooting a 309 on day one and finishing with a 300 on the final day to nip Western Carolina by one stroke.
Sarah Bertram continued her strong play this fall, finishing by herself in fifth (76-74-150). Taylor Dodson tied for 10th individually (76-78-154), with Julia Henderson taking 27th (82-75-157), Allison Chandler taking 32nd (82-76-158) and Mim Sankapong finishing 33rd (81-78-159).
Henderson, Chandler and Sangkapong each lowered the scores by at least three strokes on the final day to improve their position.
Gardner-Webb is back in action on October 17-18 at the 2016 WCU Invitational in Hayesville, N.C.
