Women’s Golf Finishes Second at 2017 Low Country Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD,S.C. -  The Gardner-Webb women's golf team took home a second-place finish at the 2017 Low Country Intercollegiate at the Moss Creek Golf Club in Hilton Head, S.C.

Gardner-Webb shot the lowest round of the final day at 316 to pull within three strokes (641) of first-place High Point (638).

The Runnin' Bulldogs were led individually by both Allison Chandler and Julia Henderson, who each posted totals of 160 to finish tied for 13th place, finishing 10 strokes back of first place. 

Chandler shot a 77 on her first round and an 83 on the second round, while Henderson shot an 83 on her opening round and a 77 for the second round.

Taylor Dodson tied for 19th place (80-81-161), Morgan Laird tied for 24th place (85-77-162) and Sarah Bertram tied for 47th place (86-81-167) to round out the individual performances for Gardner-Webb.

The tournament took place on the 5,922-yard South Course at the Moss Creek Golf Club.

The Runnin' Bulldogs will return to action at the Mimosa Hills Women's Intercollegiate on April 1-3 in Morganton, N.C.
