CHARLOTTE – Gardner-Webb defender Eline Glamsland was named Big South Conference Come Ready Nutrition Women's Soccer Freshman of the Week Monday afternoon by the league office.
Glamsland (Lillesand, Norway) continued her progression, starting in each of Gardner-Webb's Big South wins last week. She netted her second goal of the season on Wednesday in a 1-0 win over Liberty, finishing off a carom in the 46th minute to provide the game winner.
Glamsland also played well in Gardner-Webb's 1-0 win over first-place Radford on Saturday, helping the Runnin' Bulldogs to their second shutout of the week – and providing momentum for Gardner-Webb to move back into the thick of the Big South regular season race.
The weekly honor is the first of Glamsland's career at Gardner-Webb. She has two goals and three assists so far in 14 starts.
The Runnin' Bulldogs (6-7-2, 3-2 Big South) get back on the road this week, traveling to UNC Asheville on Wednesday and playing at Winthrop on Saturday afternoon.
