Women’s Tennis Earns 6-1 Win Over Queens Sunday Afternoon

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb women's tennis team earned their third straight victory of the 2017 season, defeating Queens by a 6-1 score on Sunday afternoon. 

The Runnin' Bulldogs took an early advantage after doubles play, as GWU won all three matches to claim the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead.

In singles action, Gardner-Webb picked up two quick straight set wins as Catherine White defeated Hannah Lehfeldt at the No. 5 position and Daniela Naupari defeated Melissa Laing at the No. 3 spot, giving the Runnin' Bulldogs a 3-0 lead.

GWU would seal the overall win at the No. 6 spot, as Paula Romero would defeat Isabel Fornies. 

The Runnin' Bulldogs would also pick up wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions.

Gardner-Webb returns to action Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 pm at Winthrop.
