
Lady Golfers Finish Eighth at DeBary Intercollegiate Tournament

DeBary, Fla. - Sophomore Yayoi Garcia finished in a tie for 10th place overall as she shot a 151, +7 for the two day event, carding rounds of 74 and 77, leading the Lady Bulldogs to an eighth place team finish.
Gardner-Webb turned in a combined team score of 626, + 50, carding rounds of 317 and 309 for the tournament. The Lady Bulldogs finished only two strokes behind both Daytona Beach CC and the host Winthrop Eagles, who finish in a tie for sixth-place overall. The 'Dogs eighth place finish put them ahead of six other teams including Jacksonville, Bethane Cookman, Florida Golf Coast and the Citadel.
Sophomore Katie Garahan turned in rounds of 81 and 76, for a combined two-round score of 157, +13 and finished tied for 29th, while senior Claudine Foong was right on the heels of Garahan, shooting a 158, +14, and finishing in a tie for 33th overall.
Also scoring for the Bulldogs was sophomore Mackenzie Renner who finished in a tie for 44th, carding a two round combined score of 162, +18 and senior Stacey Linduska who finished with a 166, +22 for the tournament.
With the Lady Bulldogs eighth place finish, they have wrapped up their 2006 fall season and will be taking the winter off before opening up their spring season on February 26 at the Campbell Spring Intercollegiate tournament.
