CULLOWHEE, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb men's and
women's cross country teams each placed fourth at the Western
Carolina Open.
The men's team had one runner in the top 10 and two in the top
20, totaling 113 points. The women had three runners in the top 20,
tallying 93 points in the meet.
Josh Hudson recorded a time of 19:59 to lead the way for the
Bulldogs. Hudson placed ninth overall. Teammate Lucas McAneney
crossed the line in 20:25, earning an 18th-place finish.
Alex Nimmo took home 21st with an effort of 21:06 while Timothy
Israel netted a time of 22:02.
On the women's side, Michele Milner was the first Bulldog to
cross the finish line for the second straight week. Milner ran the
course in 15:03. Katherine Warden and Abby Callahan each compiled
top-20 finishes. Warden was 14th with a time of 15:19 while
Callahan crossed the line in 15:38.
The Bulldogs take a week off before racing on Sept. 29 at
McAlister's Deli Invitational in Greenville, N.C.
