
Bulldogs Finish Sixth at Sea Trail Intercollegiate

Sunset Beach, N.C. Senior Joshua Philbeck turned in a round one of 70, -2 and a 72, even par round two, leading the Bulldogs to a sixth-place finish this weekend at the Sea Trail Intercollegiate hosted by Elon University.
Philbeck's two round score of 142, -2 placed him in a tie for 10th place overall for the event.
The Bulldogs finished sixth out of 20 teams, as they turned in a team combined score of 291, +3 on both Saturday and Sunday, giving them a two-day score of 582, +6.
Junior Geordie Hagerman was close behind Philbeck, turning in rounds of 74, +2 and 71, -1 for a two-day score of 145, +1, only three strokes behind the Bulldog leader. Hagerman finished tied for 17th place for the tournament.
Sophomore Blake Palmer finished tied for 22nd, as he carded a 146, +2 with rounds of 72, even par and 74, +2.
Newcomer Sam Ransom turned in a two-day score of 150, +6, while sophomore Ryan Bell rounded out the scoring for the Dogs with a score of 153, +9.
Gardner-Webb will continue their fall season in two weeks, when they will compete in the Mission Inn Collegiate Classic, on October 6th.
