
Lady Netters Add Ellis for 2007 Spring Season

Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb women's tennis team and head coach Jim Corn announced on Monday morning that the Lady Bulldogs have added another player to this year's roster for the fast-approaching spring season.
Kasey Ellis, who is the younger sister of current GWU men's tennis player Kim Ellis, comes to GWU from nearby Charlotte, North Carolina and will officially join the team in January 2007 and will be able to compete immediately for the Lady Bulldogs.
Ellis lettered for four years at South Mecklenburg High School where she was the team MVP in both singles and doubles four times. Ellis was named the SW 4A Player of the Year as well as earned a spot on the 4A All-State team. Ellis was also a Western Region doubles champion.
While playing junior tennis Ellis frequently was ranked in the top-five in the state of North Carolina. Ellis was a North Carolina State tournament singles semifinalist, two-time finalist and champion over her junior career.
In the classroom Ellis graduated as a CMS and North Carolina Scholar.
The Lady Bulldogs tennis team will open up their 2007 spring season on January 21 when they will travel to Raleigh, N.C. to take on both N.C. State and UNC-Wilmington.
