
Runners World Magazine Ranks Bulldogs' Cross Country Mascot As One Of The Nation's Best

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. Earlier this week, Runners World magazine decided to release a list of the best and worst cross country mascots in the country and the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs were right there near the top.
On Oct. 1, Kevin Knabe published the list and GWU earned the No. 6 spot. The Loyola College Greyhounds garnered top honors while the South Dakota State Jackrabbits were second and the Grand Canyon University Antelopes were third. UT-San Antonio Roadrunners were third while the Runnin' Rebels of UNLV were fifth.
After Gardner-Webb in the sixth spot, the John Carroll University Blue Streaks were seventh. The UAB Blazers were eighth while the USC-Aiken Pacers and Murray State Racers rounded out the top-10 list.

The Bulldogs will host their only meet of the year Friday
afternoon the GWU Duel. The men's race begins at 5 p.m. with
the women following at approximately 5:30 p.m. The Bulldogs will
compete against Appalachian State, UNC-Asheville and Wofford.
