Godfrey Earns All-South Region Honors

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Gardner-Webb senior Richard Godfrey was named to the All-South Region third team, as released by the NSCAA All-America Committee on Monday, Dec. 17.
Godfrey becomes the first GWU student-athlete to garner All-South honors since the Bulldogs made the move to Division I.
Godfrey, who earned all-conference honors in the Atlantic Sun, helped get the team back to the A-Sun Tournament for the second consecutive season.
He finished second in the A-Sun in goals with 11, tied for second with 23 points (11 goals, one assist) and was third in points per game (1.15).
Godfrey led the Bulldogs in virtually every offensive category including goals, points, shots, shot percentage, shots on goal, shots on goal percentage and was tied for the team-lead with one game-winning goal.
Godfrey was just one of two A-Sun players to make the All-South
team, with the other being Richard Jata from Campbell.
