Foong Leads Bulldogs After Day One of Fighting Camel Spring Classic

Buies Creek, N.C. - Senior Claudine Foong led the Lady Bulldogs after day one of play at the Fighting Camel Spring Classic tournament, carding a 73, +1, first round to place GWU in fifth-place going into round two on Tuesday.
Foong's 73 placed her t-2nd individually and lead the GWU squad which turned in a combined team score of 319, +31.
Sophomore Yayoi Garcia paced the remaining four GWU lady golfers, finishing t-31st with a first round 81, +9. Senior Lindsey Hermanson carded an 82, +10, followed by sophomore Mackenzie Renner's 83, +11 and senior Stacey Linduska's 84, +12.
The host Campbell University leads after day one with a team score of 300, +12, 15 strokes ahead of the second-place team of Illinois State University (315). Wichita State (317), Richmond University (318) and Gardner-Webb (319) round at the top-five after day one.
The Fighting Camel Spring Classic at Keith Hills No.1 in Buies Creek, N.C. will continue tomorrow, February 27, as the shotgun start for round two is scheduled for 9:00 a.m.
