Bulldogs Fall To No. 51 ETSU 7-0

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - Despite a good effort by the Gardner-Webb men's tennis team, the Bulldogs fell to ETSU in an Atlantic Sun match Tuesday afternoon by a score of 7-0.
GWU falls to 8-11 on the season and 4-3 in conference competition while the Buccaneers improve to 17-4 on the year and remain unbeaten in league play at 7-0.
ETSU swept all three doubles matches by the same 8-2 margin, earning one team point for the visitors heading into singles competition.
At No. 1, Evgeny Slesarev fell to Predrag Burmazovic in straight sets, but Slesarev pushed him to the brink before falling 6-4, 7-5 (11-9). It was by far the best match of the day for the young Bulldogs.
Roberto Vasques played Enrique Olivares tough, but dropped a 6-3, 6-2 decision as the No. 2 seed. Sebastian Serrano downed Kim Ellis 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 3 slot. Gabe Veiga was unable to pull off his 11th consecutive win at the No. 4 seed, falling 6-0, 6-0 to Felix Insaurraide.
Grant Van Rensburg and Rafael Altmeyer eached fell by the score of 6-0, 6-2, in their respective matches.
The Bulldogs return to action March 31, when they play host to UC-Riverside at 10 a.m.
