MacArthur Crowned A-Sun Athlete of the Week

Macon, Ga. - Gardner-Webb's Cody MacArthur recorded two top-six finishes and broke the school record in the hammer throw at the Duke Invitational en route to earning his second career A-Sun Athlete of the Week nod, league officials announced today.
MacArthur, a senior communications major from Simi Valley, Calif., earned a fifth place finish with a throw of 51.91m (170'4") in the hammer throw, establishing a new Gardner-Webb record. He also finished sixth in the discus with an effort of 45.46m (149'2").
The award is the second of his outdoor career, having last been honored on April 19, 2006.
MacArthur, along with the rest of the Bulldogs, will head to Boone, N.C., for the Appalachian State Invitational on Friday, APril 13.
