No. 4 Seed GWU Men's Tennis Ready For A-Sun Conference Tournament

Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb men's tennis team will enter the fifth-straight Atlantic Sun Conference Championship tournament on Friday, April 20, as the No. 4 seed, its highest seed ever in the post-season tournament.
The Bulldogs finished the season 10-12 overall and 4-4 in A-Sun play, their best season yet at the Division I level since its first season in 2002.
GWU will do battle with the No. 5 seeded Jacksonville Dolphins in the first round of the tournament on Friday afternoon, with the 'Dogs scoring the 4-3 victory over the Dolphins back on March 20 in their only regular season matchup this year.
In their regular season match, the 'Dogs scored the doubles point as the defeated the Dolphins at both the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles spots. In singles action, the teams split the six bouts with GWU's victories coming by way of Gabe Veiga at the No. 4 spot, Grant Van Rensburg at No. 5 and Rafael Altmeyer at the No. 6 position.
The first round match up slated for Friday, April 20, at 3 p.m. at the tennis courts at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn.
