
Men's Golf Tied For Fifth After Day One of Wofford Invitational

Spartanburg, S.C. - Senior Joshua Philbeck turned in rounds of 68, -4 and 71, -1, to finish day one with a combined score of 139, -5, placing him in a tie for third-place overall on opening-day at the Wofford Invitational presented by VAULT men's golf tournament at The Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, S.C.
Philbeck led the charge full the Bulldogs, who finished day one tied for fifth-place ovearll with a combined team score of 579, +3.
The Bullodgs are tied with both Jacksonville and Francis Marion, who all find themselves eight strokes behind the first-place Elon Phoenix who turned in a score of 571, -5.
Sophomore Blake Palmer carded rounds of 74, +2 and 67, -5, to finish with a 141, -3 and in a tie for eighth-place individually.
Freshman Immu Korvenmaa is t-41st has he turned in a 149, +5 on Monday, while teammate Ryan Bell carded a first day score of 150, +6, placing him t-45th place overall.
Junior Geordie Hagerman rounded out the scoring for the 'Dogs as he carded a 155, +11, over the first-two rounds which was good enough for 62nd-place heading into day two of action on Tuesday.
The par 72, 6,877-yard tournament will conclude Tuesday with the final 18 holes. The first set of players is due to tee off at 8:30 a.m. with the final group heading out at 10:36 a.m.
