Katie Garahan Teams Up To Win Second Championship

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. – Gardner-Webb rising junior Katie Garahan teamed up with her father, Gary, recently to win the Carolinas Parent-Child Championship.
Tied with Gary Robinson and his daughter Lauren Veauthier at the Longleaf Country Club after regulation, the Garahan's defeated their opponent on the second playoff hole with a birdie.
After each team recorded a par on the first playoff hole, they moved on to the par 3 second. Katie's superb tee shot nestled just 10 feet from the hole and her father rolled in the birdie put to win the championship.
The victory marked the second time the duo has won the event,
having claimed the title in 2001.
