
Maxwell Earns Spot On USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

NEW ORELEANS, La. Rising senior Elizabeth Maxwell earned a spot on the USTFCCCA 2007 Women's All-Academic Team, announced Thursday afternoon.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, one must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 and obtain an NCAA automatic or provisional qualifying mark for the most recent indoor championships or an outdoor regional qualifying mark in their respective event.
Maxwell, who competed in multiple throws events for the Gardner-Webb track and field team, recorded a mark of 12.99m (42'7.50") at the A-Sun Championship to win the shot put event. By winning the event, she automatically qualified for the NCAA East Region Championships. While competing at the A-Sun Championship, Maxwell finished well in every event in which she competed and was named Most Outstanding Field Performer.
Maxwell holds the school record in the event with a heave of 43'5".
