
McAneney and Callahan Lead The Way At Big South Preview

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. For the second consecutive meet, Lucas McAneney posted a top-five time, pacing the Gardner-Webb men's cross country team to a fourth-place finish while Abby Callahan crossed the line in 13th, guiding the women to a fifth-place finish, at the Big South Preview Friday evening.
McAneney finished the course in 27:03.9, just four seconds outside of fourth place.
Joshua Hudson earned a top-10 placing by taking eighth in a time of 27:35.0. Alex Nimmo recorded a 20th-place finish by crossing in 28:55.6.
Charles Steinke and Timothy Israel finished the race in 23rd and 24th, respectively. Steinke finished in 30:13.6 while Israel posted a time of 30:27.3.
Justin Keziah had a time of 31:25.2 for 29th place while Erin Goodrum's time of 32:59.3 was good enough for 32nd.
On the women's side, Callahan finished the 5,000m course in 19:54.4 for 13th.
Rookie Laura Scott's time of 20:55.6 earned her the 20th spot while Beth Long was not too far behind her, finishing in 22nd with a time of 21:05.0.
Diana Palka garnered a time of 21:46.6 for 26th place while Carrie Minard took 28th in 22:13.1.
Rebecca Silleman had a time of 22:34.4, earning her 30th.
The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, Sept. 29 when they travel to Greenville, N.C., to take part in the McAlister's Deli Invitational.
