September 05, 2007 | Cross Country
MACON, Ga. - With his record-setting performance Friday evening at the Western Carolina Invitational, Lucas McAneney was honored as the Atlantic Sun Conference Runner of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
McAneney broke through a pack of Clemson Tigers to finish third at the meet. Clemson runners finished 1-2-4-5, with McAneney breaking the school record for a four-mile distance in a time of 20:41.4, earning him the first A-Sun Runner of the Week award of the season.
The honor was McAneney's third Runner of the Week award of his
career. The two-time all-Atlantic Sun performer last won the award
in Sept. 2005 after finishing eighth at the Winthrop
Invitational.
The Bulldogs return to action on Sept. 14 in Hendersonville, N.C., as they partake in the UNC-Asheville Big South Preview.
