
Wilcox Tabbed Big South Freshman Of The Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. Gardner-Webb student-athlete Laura Wilcox was named the New Balance Player of the Week by the Big South Conference Monday morning.
Wilcox, a middle blocker from Normal, Ill., posted 14 kills while hitting .306 in two Big South matches last weekend. She notched 2.33 kills per set and came away with eight digs to go along with four blocks.
Against Liberty, Wilcox had five kills, five digs and a block assist. In the contest against Radford, she posted nine kills in just 19 swings for a .368 attack percentage. She also had three block assists and accounted for 10.5 of the Bulldogs' 38 points.
The honor was Wilcox's third straight and fourth of the year.
The Bulldogs step out of conference tomorrow evening for a
contest at Davidson before returning to Big South play this weekend
at Charleston Southern and Coastal Carolina.
