
Cross Country Wraps-Up at Southeast Regional

CLEMMONS, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb women's cross-country team finished 32nd, respectively, at the NCAA Southeast Regional hosted by Wake Forest Saturday afternoon.
The GWU women amassed 981 points in the 6k race, Virginia won the team event with 105 total points. Only three student-athletes from the men's team participated in the 10k race, freshman Nick Kelly posting the best time of the three with a 34:36. The Lady Bulldogs were led by senior Carrie Minard with a time of 23:58.
Beth Long's time of 24:53.8 was good enough for 198th in the Regional, and sophomore Laura Scott finished 199th with a 24:54.6 finishing time.
Bree Tharpe and Rebecca Silleman were 209th and 215th , respectively. Tharpe was able to complete the course in 25.39.3 while Silleman finished at 26.41.7.
For the men, Tim Israel posted a time of 36.04, while junior Charlie Steinke came in at 37.28.5.
