
Big South Recognizes Four All-Conference Selections from Gardner-Webb

The Big South Conference office recognized four all-conference
selections from the Gardner-Webb men's soccer team this past
weekend at the Big South Conference Tournament in Conway, S.C.
Seniors Miguel Pinzon and Bradley Morrison, along with Eric
Asanin-Miroux and Logan Swaim, were the four players from GWU
honored with the prestigious awards.
Pinzon was one of four midfielders named 1st Team All-Conference at
the position. His 2008 stats include: Second in points on the
Bulldogs' squad with 10 ... Scored four goals and tallied two
assists in only 12 matches this season ... Tied for 5th in Big
South with 9 points acquired in conference ... Tied for 4th in
goals scored with four in conference action ... Leads the Big South
with three game-winning goals.
Fellow senior Bradley Morrison was named 2nd Team All-Conference at
the forward position. His 2008 stats include: Started 15 of the 17
games played this season ...Tallied six goals along with one assist
for a total of 13 points on the season ... Tied for 3rd in Big
South with 11 points acquired in conference ... Solely in 3rd with
five goals scored in conference ... Scored the game-winning goal in
the Bulldogs' 2-1 victory over Coastal Carolina ... Recorded a
hat-trick against Presbyterian on three consecutive goals.
Sophomore Eric Asanin-Miroux also made 2nd Team All-Conference at
defender. His 2008 stats include: Co-Captain of the Bulldogs this
season ... Started 14 of 17 games, missed two due to injury ... Led
the Bulldogs' defense to post four shutouts this season, two more
from a season ago ... Was the backbone of the Bulldogs' defensive
line which caught opponents 86 times with offsides penalties.
Last but not least, junior Logan Swaim was named to the Big South's
All-Academic Team. His 2008 stats include: Co-Captain of the
Bulldogs this season ... Played in all 17 matches for the Bulldogs
... Scored one goal along with one assist on the year from his
defensive position ... Scored the game-winning goal in the Bulldogs
1-0 win over VMI ... Tallied 10 shots over the course of the season
which is tied for sixth amongst GWU players ... Holds a 3.37,
majoring in Biology ... Named to the Gardner-Webb honor roll two
semesters.
