
Bulldogs Take Eighth At Diet Coke Wofford Invitational

SPARTANBURG, S.C. Bad weather forced the cancellation of the second and final round of the Diet Coke Wofford Invitational Tuesday morning with the Gardner-Webb women's golf team placing eighth in the field.
Elon won the tournament with a combined 307 while the Bulldogs finished 20 strokes back at 327.
Katie Garahan had an outstanding first round in which she finished tied for third after posting a combined 76. Garahan opened the invitational with a 39 on the front nine before coming home with a team-best 37.
Yayoi Garcia was the Bulldogs' next best finisher, just four strokes behind Garahan, with an 80. Garcia tied for 20th after shooting a 41-39.
Courtney Meyer tied for 30th with a one-round 84. Meyer shot a team-best 38 on the front nine, but struggled over the final nine holes before ending with a 46.
Mackenzie Renner and Liz Zouzal finished tied for 39th and 47th, respectively. Renner shot an 87 whlie Zouzal was two strokes behind her, ending with an 89.
The Bulldogs will be back on the links March 21-23at the Shamrock Intercollegiate, which is hosted by Winthrop in Rock Hill, S.C.
