Lady Bulldogs Fall to Campbell at Buies Creek, 1-6

The Gardner-Webb women's tennis team wrapped up conference play
Wednesday afternoon, as they traveled to Buies Creek, N.C. to do
battle with the Camels of Campbell University in A-Sun action.
The ‘Dogs fought hard, but it wasn't enough as they fell 1-6
to the Camels.
The loss drops the Bulldogs to 3-8 in conference play and 7-14
overall, while the win moves the Camels to 6-4 in the A-Sun and
16-4 overall.
In doubles play, Gardner-Webb lost the doubles point as they
dropped all three bouts to the Camels.
In singles action, the ‘Dogs lone victory came at the No. 1
position as Laura Kriett downed Campbell's Scarlett Alfonzo 4-6,
6-3, 6-2 to record her 13th victory this season. By recording a
13th win, Kriett surpasses her mark of 12 wins last season at the
No. 1 position.
The women's tennis team will have a couple of days to prepare for
its non-conference double-header on Saturday, April 12. The Lady
Bulldogs are scheduled to take on Presbyterian College at 10 am and
North Carolina A&T at 3 pm at the Webb Tennis Facility.
