
Bulldogs In Seventh After First Round Of A-Sun Championship

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. The Gardner-Webb women's golf team sits in seventh place after the first round of the Atlantic Sun Conference championship.
The Bulldogs combined for a +57, 345, which is eight shots better than Lipscomb. ETSU, playing virtually on a home course, leads the way with a 10-over par, 298.
The Lady Bucs' Laura Jansone is the lone competitor of the field that is under par. She posted a five-under par, 67 on the par 72 course.
Leading the way for GWU is Katie Garahan, who recorded a 12-over par, 84, for the first round. She currently stands in a tie for 12th.
A pair of Bulldogs is two shots behind Garahan. Both Dana Prozeller and Courtney Meyer tallied 14-over par, 86's through the first 18 holes. The duo is tied with Lipscomb's Brie Rowdon in 30th.
Yayoi Garcia's 17-over par, 89, put her in a tie for 34th while Mackenzie Renner's 22-over par, 94, put her in 39th place after the first day of competition.
The Bulldogs will look to move up the leader board on the middle
day of the three-day event as a quartet of teams are within
striking distance.
