Maxwell Picks Up Athlete Of The Week Honors

MACON, Ga. – Senior Elizabeth Maxwell was named Atlantic Sun Conference Athlete of the Week for women's track and field for the second time this season, announced Wednesday by the league office.
Maxwell etched her name in the Gardner-Webb record book yet again with her school-record performance in the discus at the Solid Orange Classic.
Her throw of 40.58m (133'2") was good enough for second place at the meet and brought another school record to Maxwell. She also finished second in the hammer throw with a mark of 46.33m (152') and was the bronze medalist in the shot put with an effort of 12.08m (39'7.75").
Maxwell owns school records in the shot put, discus and hammer throw.
She, along with the rest of the Bulldogs, head to Cullowhee,
N.C., to take part of the Western Carolina Invitational on
Friday.
