
Gardner-Webb Finishes Seventh At A-Sun Championship

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. The Gardner-Webb women's golf team posted a final round 326, which was good enough for seventh place at the A-Sun Championship.
The Bulldogs posted a three-round score of 993, 129-over par. GWU placed just nine strokes out of fourth place. ETSU won the tournament with a combined 903, 39-over par. Campbell was second (+64, 928) while Belmont took third (+78, 942).
Stetson was fourth with a combined 984 (+120), Jacksonville was fifth after posting a score of 986 (+122). Mercer was sixth after amassing a total of 992 (+128) and was followed by the Bulldogs. Lipscomb was eighth with a tally of 1030 (+166).
Laura Jansone of ETSU finished one stroke ahead of Belen Diaz Cisneros (Campbell) and Lorie Warren (Belmont) with a three-round total of 226, 10-over par.
The top GWU finishers were Courtney Meyer and Katie Garahan, who each finished 30 over par, 246. Meyer tallied the best round of the day for the Bulldogs, posting a 79 on the final 18 holes.
Mackenzie Renner was the third-best GWU student-athlete,
shooting a three-round score of 252 (+36). She was 28th overall.
Dana Prozeller was 32nd with a score of 258, 42-over par. Yayoi
Garcia tied for 36th with a 264 total, 48-over par.
