
Gardner-Webb Stands In Sixth Place After Second Round

BRASELTON, Ga. The Gardner-Webb men's golf team recorded a second round 305, 21-over par, and dropped from first to fifth after the completion of the middle day of competition.
The Bulldogs were in first place after day one, having shot an even par, 284, on the Woodlands Course. GWU is currently standing at 21-over par, 589 for the championship.
Blake Palmer posted a six-over par, 77, on the second day and has now tallied an even par 142 over the first two rounds. He stands in fourth place overall.
Teammate Andrew Rickard is among the leaders, standing in a tie for sixth after 36 holes. Rickard shot a two-over par, 73, for the second round, having amassed a three-over par, 145 for the tournament thus far.
Joshua Philbeck's second-round 75 (four-over par) has him in a tie for 15th. He shot an opening round 72, tallying a 147 for the competition.
Immu Korvenmaa posted a nine-over par, 80, for the day and now has combined to tally a 155 (13-over par). He is tied for 34th. Geordie Hagerman's 82 has him in 49th position. Hagerman has compiled a 162 for the tournament.
Just 10 strokes out of first place, the Bulldogs will look to
climb back to the top of the leader board tomorrow, the final day
of competition in their last-ever A-Sun Championship.
