
Gardner-Webb Releases 2008-09 Men's Golf Schedule

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. Head men's golf coach Tee Burton, in conjunction with the Gardner-Webb athletics department, has released the 2008-09 men's golf schedule.
In all, the squad will compete in eight regular season competitions before heading to its first-ever Big South Championship Apr. 20-22 at the Patriot Golf Course in Ninety Six, South Carolina.
The Bulldogs will tee off their inaugural Big South season with five fall dates, the first of which is hosted by Michigan Sept. 20-21 at the 2008 Wolverine Invitational. Two weeks later, GWU will compete in the Cuthbert Cup, which is hosted by the College of Charleston.
Burton's team will compete at the nearby River Run Invitational Oct. 13-14, which is hosted by Davidson. GWU will then compete in Big South foe Charleston Southern's Fall Intercollegiate Oct. 20-21 in Charleston, S.C. The Bulldogs will wrap up the fall schedule Nov. 3-4 at the Western Carolina Inetercollegiate.
GWU kicks off the spring season March 2-3 when it partakes in the Lonnie D. Small Collegiate in familiar Buies Creek, N.C.
The Bulldogs will take a couple of weeks off from competition before returning to the greens on March 23. GWU will compete in a two-day event that is hosted by William & Mary, the FMB Collegiate.
One week later Burton's team hits the road for the Larry Nelson Intercollegiate in Kennesaw, Ga. The Larry Nelson Intercollegiate is also a two-day tournament.
On Apr. 8, GWU will play in the annual University Cup at the Mimosa Hills Country Club before preparing for the Big South Championship.
