
Bulldogs Ninth After First Day Of Sea Trail Intercollegiate

SUNSET BEACH, N.C. After the first day of the Sea Trail Intercollegiate, the Gardner-Webb women's golf team stands in ninth place.
The Bulldogs posted a first-day tally of 321, which is 33 over par.
Elon, the host institution, is in first after firing a 15 over par,
303. The only other Big South school at the tournament is Radford,
which is 14th after the first round. The Highlanders
shot a 327, 39 over par.
Sophomore Courtney Meyer and Yayoi Garcia each fired identical 79's
in the first round. Meyer and Garcia each opened the scoring with a
38 on the front nine and came home with a 41. Both are tied for
23rd after shooting a seven over par.
Dana Prozeller totaled an 81 for the afternoon, which leaves her
tied for 44th. Prozeller shot a 41 over the first nine
holes before coming back with a 40 on the back nine.
Mackenzie Renner fired a 10-over par, 82, over the first 18 holes.
She is currently tied for 54th. Katie Garahan's 85 was
good enough to put her into a tie for 76th.
The Bulldogs return to action tomorrow for the second round of the
Sea Trail Intercollegiate.
