
Bulldogs Hit the Road for Two Contests This Week

Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb men's soccer will return to the road this week, as the Bulldogs will take on VMI on Wednesday, October 14th, at 4 p.m. in Lexington, Va. and then travel to Greensboro, N.C. to face off with the Spartans of UNC Greensboro on Saturday night, October 17, at 7 p.m.
Gardner-Webb (6-3-1, 2-2-1 Big South) are coming off a 5-2 win over
Georgia Southern on Saturday afternoon, in which five different
Bulldogs scored.
The Bulldogs have already matched its win total from all of last season with six and are only two goals away from matching its 22 goals of a year ago.
The Bulldogs are 2-1 all-time versus the VMI Keydets, including a
1-0 shutout win over VMI at home last season.
Gardner-Webb's lone loss to the Keydets came back in 2007, as VMI
defeated GWU 4-2 in Lexington, Va.
VMI is 1-8-1 overall this season and is still looking for its first
conference win of the year.
Wednesday afternoon's match at VMI will be video broadcast over the
Big South Network and can be viewed by going to www.bigsouthsports.com.
GWU will set another first on Saturday night, as the Bulldogs will
take on UNC Greensboro in men's soccer action. These two teams
have not met on the pitch thus far and will look to come away with
a win in its first-ever meeting.
The Spartans enter play this week with a record of 3-6-3. UNC
Greensboro will play Duke on Tuesday night October 13th, before
hosting the Bulldogs on Saturday night.
