GWU Women's Basketball Picked Third in Preseason Poll; Roundtree and Hudson Named to Preseason All-Conference Team

Charlotte, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb women's basketball team was picked third in the 2009-10 Big South Preseason Poll, while senior Margaret Roundtree and junior Dominique Hudson were named to the Big South Preseason All-Conference Team announced by the League at the 2009-10 Big South Conference Basketball Media Day.
The Bulldogs, who received four first-place votes, picked up 147
total points to be selected third in the preseason poll by both the
coaches and the media.
Gardner-Webb was the only team outside of Liberty and High Point,
who tied for first-place with 160 total points, to receive any
first-place votes.
Liberty and High Point tied for first-place, both garnering 13 more
points than the Bulldogs, while Coastal Carolina and Charleston
Southern rounded out the top-five.
As for the 2009-10 Big South Women's Basketball Preseason
All-Conference Team, Roundtree and Hudson were two of the five
players to receive the preseason honor.
Joining Roundtree and Hudson on the preseason all-conference team
was High Point's Jurica Hargraves, who was also named the preseason
Player of the Year, and Mackenzie Maier. Radford's Kymesha Alston
rounded out the preseason all-conference team selections.
Roundtree and Hudson are the first two Bulldogs to ever be named to
the Big South Preseason All-Conference Team in women's basketball
and are the first GWU duo to be named to a preseason all-conference
team since Sequenta Blackman and Shameka Smith were both named to
the Atlantic Sun Preseason All-Conference Team in 2005-06.
