
Gardner-Webb Women's Soccer Hits The Road To Face VMI and Radford This Weekend

BOILING SPRINGS, NC- After playing their last four matches at home, the Gardner-Webb women's soccer team travels this weekend to face VMI Friday afternoon in Lexington, Va., and then to Radford, Va. to face Radford, the defending Big South Conference Tournament Champions, Sunday afternoon.
The Lady Bulldogs head into the weekend with an 8-6-0 overall record, and 2-1-0 in Big South Conference play following a 1-0 loss to Liberty this past Sunday. Sophomore Megan Reimer, who currently has eight goals on the season, leads the squad offensively.
VMI, who currently has a record of 4-9-0 overall and 2-2-0 in conference, enters the match with Gardner-Webb following a 3-0 loss to Charleston Southern this past Monday evening. The Keydets are currently led offensively by senior Crissy Beach, who has three goals and three assists thus far.
The all-time record between Gardner-Webb and VMI currently stands a 1-1-0, with the Keydets earning a 3-2 victory in double overtime last year. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM Friday afternoon at Patchin Field and can be seen on the Big South Network.
Sunday, the Lady Bulldogs will face off against Radford, who enters the week with a record of 6-7-0 overall and 3-1-0 in conference after a 1-0 loss at Coastal Carolina this past Monday. Radford will face Winthrop Friday evening The Highlanders are led offensively by freshman Mary Wiley, who currently has five goals and one assist.
Radford leads the all-time series between the two squads at 2-0-1, with last season's match-up ending with a 0-0 tie. The match is set to take place at 1:00 PM Sunday afternoon at Patrick D. Cupp Memorial Stadium and can be seen on the Big South Network.
Following this weekend, the Lady Bulldogs will return to Boiling Springs for a two-match home stand against Presbyterian and UNC Asheville. Both matches will take place at Greene-Harbison Field.
