Gardner-Webb's Porter and Spicel Ranked in Wrestling USA Magazine

Boiling Springs, N.C. - The preseason accolades and recognition continue for the Gardner-Webb wrestling team, as redshirt-senior Dustin Porter and redshirt-freshman Richie Spicel were both ranked in the latest edition of Wrestling USA Magazine.
Porter, who is a three-time East Regional Champion in the
heavyweight class, is ranked as the No. 21 top challenger in the
285-pound weight class. Porter was also recognized in the
Amateur Wrestling News Pre-Season Rankings earlier this
preseason, as he was ranked 16th in the nation within the
heavyweight class.
Spicel, who redshirted last season, was ranked as the No. 30 top
challenger in the 141-pound weight class. Spicel, who captured two
Ohio state titles for Brunswick High School, was mentioned in the
magazine as "a takedown specialist with a series of exciting
moves".
The Gardner-Webb wrestling coaching staff has high expectations for
not only both Porter and Spicel, but for the entire roster this
season.
