
GWU Senior Margaret Roundtree Named Big South Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Gardner-Webb's Margaret Roundtree has been named the Big South Conference Women's Basketball Choice Hotels Player of the Week, while Helen Terry from Charleston Southern was tabbed The Crons Brand Freshman of the Week, the League announced today.
Roundtree, a senior from Durham, N.C., averaged 16.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game to lead her Lady Bulldogs to a 2-0 record last week, which included a win over Purdue on Dec. 21. Against the Boilermakers, the forward put in 18 points on 40 percent from the floor and 6-of-7 from the line. She also ripped down 10 boards and came away with three steals and three assists in the 56-55 win. She was also big in Gardner-Webb's win over Converse on Dec. 18, as she notched 15 points on 7-of-12 from the field and one from the line, to go along with nine rebounds and seven assists. Gardner-Webb's win over Purdue marked the school's first-ever win over a Big Ten team.
Roundtree is the second Lady Bulldog to earn the Big South Conference Women's Basketball Choice Hotels Player of the Week honors, as teammate Monique Hudson received the weekly honor back on December 8th.
Also nominated for women's basketball Player of the Week for Week 6: Katie Tull (Charleston Southern), Amy Dodd (High Point), Devon Brown (Liberty), Lindsey Mongomery (UNC Asheville) and Jessica Fansler (Winthrop).
