
Men's Tennis Drops 5-2 Decision at ECU

The Bulldogs ended their three-match road skid with a 5-2 loss to East Carolina Saturday afternoon at the ECU Tennis Complex. The Bulldogs fall to 1-9 on the year, while ECU advances to 6-1.
Gardner-Webb had a hard time against ECU in the doubles portion on Saturday, dropping all three matches to go down 1-0 to the Pirates.
GWU's Evgeny Slesarev managed to win his ninth match of the 2009 dual season by defeating ECU's Jaroslay Horvath (6-2, 7-5) at the first position. He is now 9-1 in the spring season.
Sophomore Carlos Quijano also won his singles match (6-2, 4-6, 1-0) at the No. 4 position against the Pirates. The win was Quijano's first at the fourth position this season.
Junior Rafael Altmayer came close to a win at the three position, but fell 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 to ECU's Denis Ermilov.
