Lady Netters Drop 5-2 Decision at Georgia Southern

The Gardner-Webb women's tennis team fell, 5-2, to Georgia
Southern Saturday afternoon at Lost Mountain Park.
The Lady Bulldogs fell behind early after dropping the doubles
point to the Eagles. Georgia Southern captured both the No. 1 and
No. 2 doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead. Gardner-Webb did
get one win under its belt, as Amy Beavers and Kasey Ellis were
able to take an 8-5 decision at the third slot.
In singles action, the Bulldogs managed a win at the No. 1 and No.
3 slots. Junior Laura Kriett and senior Amy Beavers were able to
capture wins against their Eagle opponents Saturday afternoon.
Kriett defeated Kristi Kegerreis in straight sets 6-4, 6-4, and
Beavers won 6-4, 7-6(7-5).
Ellis was able to take the first set in her singles match, but
dropped the next two in a losing effort at No. 5.
