
GWU Women's Golf Wins Larry Nelson Collegiate Invitational

Kennesaw, Ga. The Gardner-Webb women's golf team picked up the team title on Tuesday afternoon, as the Bulldogs finished first in the Larry Nelson Collegiate Invitational tournament, held at the Chateau Elan Resort, with a three-round combined team score of 939.
Gardner-Webb carded team rounds of 317, 304 and 318 to finish the
two-day event with a team low score of 939, +75.
The Bulldogs finished ahead of Samford University, who took second
with a score of 941, +77, and Belmont Abbey who rounded out the
top-three teams with a score of 951, +87.
Sophomore Courtney Meyer turned in a fourth-place individual
finish, as she bounced back from a first round 80, to shoot a
second round 71 and a third round 78 to finish with a combined
score of 229, +13.
Also turning in a top-10 finish for the Bulldogs was senior Yayoi
Garcia who finished in a tie for seventh-place, turning in a
three-round combined score of 237, +21.
Fellow senior MacKenzie Renner turned in her best performance of
the season, as she carded a three-round combined score of 238, +22,
to finish in a tie for 10th-place overall.
Seniors Dana Prozeller and Katie Garahan also scored for the
Bulldogs, as Prozeller finished in a tie for 14th-place with a
score of 240, +24, while Garahan shot a 249, +33, to finish tied
for 30th.
The Bulldogs will look to make it two in a row on April 6-7, as the
women will compete in the Mimosa Hills Women's Intercollegiate
hosted by Western Carolina.
