
Women's Golf Takes Sixth at Low Country Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, S.C.

Hilton Head, S.C. Senior Katie Garahan turned in a combined two-day score of 162, +18, to lead the Bulldogs to a sixth-place finish at the Low Country Intercollegiate tournament in Hilton Head, S.C.
The two co-host schools for the event took first and second overall, as Western Carolina finished first with a combined team score of 633, while Wofford took second-place with a score of 639 for the two day event.
Fellow Big South member Charleston Southern took third-place with a team score of 643, while Longwood (645) and Morehead State of Kentucky (666) rounded out the top-five.
GWU's Garahan carded team-low rounds of 80 and 82 for a combined 162, +18, which was good enough for a 13th-place finish.
Fellow seniors Dana Prozeller and Yayoi Garcia also played well, as Prozeller turned in rounds of 85 and 84 for a 169, +25, placing her in a tie for 27th-place, while Garcia finished in a tie for 33rd with a combined two-round score of 171, +27, shooting rounds of 86 and 85.
Rounding out the scoring for the Bulldogs was sophomore Courtney Meyer and senior Mackenzie Renner, as both finished the tournament with a two-round combined score of 172, +28, placing them in a tie for 38th-place overall.
Western Carolina's Blaire Minter won the event, as she carded rounds of 73 and 75 for a tournament low score of 148, +44.
The women's golf team will return to the links in two weeks on March 20-22, as the Bulldogs will compete in the Shamrock Intercollegiate tournament in Rock Hill, S.C.
