
Gardner-Webb in a Three-Way Tie for Third After Day One of Big South Championships

Ninety Six, S.C. The Gardner-Webb women's golf team have three players in the top-15 and are in a three-way tie for third after day one of the 2009 Big South Women's Golf Championships with a team score of 322, +34, at The Patriot Club in Ninety Six, S.C.
The Bulldogs are tied with Charleston Southern and Winthrop, who are all seven strokes behind day one leader Coastal Carolina with a 315, + 27. Radford is in second-place with a first round team score of 320, +32.
Leading the Bulldogs on day one was sophomore Courtney Meyer and senior Dana Prozeller, as the two both carded rounds of 79, +7, to finish tied for ninth-place overall.
Senior Yayoi Garcia is also in the top-15 individually after round one, as she turned in a round of 80, +8, placing her in a tie for 12th-place.
Also playing for the Bulldogs are seniors Katie Garahan and Mackenzie Renner. Garahan carded a round of 84, +12, good enough to place her in a tie at 19th-place, while Renner shot a 90, +18, on day one.
Day two of the 2009 Big South Women's Championships will tee off at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning. The Bulldogs are slated to begin play at 8:45 a.m.
