Softball Hits the Road This Weekend, Taking On Charleston Southern in Big South Conference Action (April 17-18)

Boiling Springs, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb softball team will look to win its third consecutive conference series in as many weeks this weekend, as the Bulldogs will travel to Charleston, S.C. to take on the Lady Buccaneers of Charleston Southern.
Gardner-Webb (16-20, 5-7 Big South) and Charleston Southern (5-7,
20-25 Big South) will take on each other for the first time since
2007 and the first time ever as conference foes.
The Bulldogs are 9-3 overall against the Lady Buccaneers and have
won the last four meetings between the two squads, with all four
wins coming in 2007.
However, GWU is only 1-1 against the Lady Buccaneers at Charleston
Southern, as Coach Cole's squads are 5-1 versus CSU at Varsity
Field in Boiling Springs, N.C.
This season, the Bulldogs are 3-6 when playing games in the
Palmetto State, with all three wins coming in conference play.
The first-pitch of the series, which is slated for 2 p.m., will
kick off Friday afternoon's doubleheader. The third and final game
of the series is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 18.
Before every game throughout the softball season, the Gardner-Webb

upcoming contests, as well as a review of the season to date.
