GWU's Christine Murray Tabbed the New Balance Pitcher of the Week

Charlotte, N.C. – Gardner-Webb's Christine Murray was named the New Balance Pitcher of the week, while Radford's Michelle Beall was tabbed the Big South Conference Choice Hotels softball Player of the Week, the League announced today.
Murray, a junior from Brampton, Ontario, posted an ERA of 1.43 with
17 strikeouts as she posted a 1-1 record last week. She got her
week started with nine strikeouts in a 4-1 complete game win over
Charleston Southern on April 17. In the game, she allowed only
three hits and one earned run. In game three of the series, Murray
struck out eight hitters in 7.2 innings and allowed just two earned
runs in the narrow 4-3 loss. In her 14.2 innings last week, Murray
gave up just three earned runs and allowed just two walks,
including one intentional walk.
The honor marks her second Pitcher of the Week plaudit this
season.
