
GWU Men's Tennis Recognized as ITA All-Academic Team

SKILLMAN, NJ- The Gardner-Webb men's tennis team has been
recognized by the International Tennis Association (ITA) for its
hard work in the classroom by being named a 2009 Division I
All-Academic team. In addition to the award received by the team,
three members of the squad were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
A total of 47 Division I programs were recognized as men's 2009 ITA
All-Academic teams.
In order to be nominated, the team must have a cumulative team
grade-point average of 3.200 or higher.
The members of the GWU men's tennis team that earned the ITA
Scholar-Athlete award were Ryan Bernthal, Jamie Lawlor, and Carlos
Quijano.
To be nominated for the ITA Scholar-Athlete award, the
student-athlete must be a varsity letter winner, have a grade-point
average of at least 3.500, and have been enrolled at their present
school for at least two semesters.
