GAME NOTES: Gardner-Webb Travels To Face NC State At 6:00 PM Saturday

BOILING SPRINGS - Off to its first 2-0 start since 2006,
Gardner-Webb will hit the road again on Saturday to tangle with ACC
contender NC State at 6:00 pm ET in Carter-Finley Stadium.
The Runnin' Bulldogs are in the midst of a four-game road stand,
which started with last Saturday's 27-20 win at Western Carolina -
a game that saw GWU hold a 20-0 lead late in the third quarter.
Following NC State, GWU will have an open date, then will open Big
South Conference play at VMI on Oct. 3 in Lexington, Va. The 'Dogs
will then travel to MAC member Buffalo for a game on Oct. 10.
Gardner-Webb has been led offensively this season by quarterback
Stan Doolittle (6-3, 224, Sr.), who accounted for 295 offensive
yards and two scores in last Saturday's win.
The Bulldog defense has been paced by its deep corps of linebackers
- with Marty Patterson (6-3, 220, Jr.), Mario Brown (6-2, 239,
RSr.) and Jeffery Williams (6-0, 229, Jr.) leading the way.
